Blackbriar 8,569
I'm probably behind the times, but I stumbled across these on FleaBay, and I've added a picture in case anyone else hasn't come across them. They claim to be 'high-velocity pellets designed for spring-powered rifles' Anyone got any experience of them, particularly - are they any good, are they actually more powerful, any rifling issues and so on? Cheers lads BB Quote Link to post

moxy 617
A gymick. The skirt is designed to detach upon impact to give your shot better penetration. Or over penetration if you can get them to group. Madness really. As a well placed lead pellet will do the job and more accurately. Plus a hell of a lot cheaper. I'm not so sure about them ruining a barrel. There only made from monkey metal. I know the GWCT endorse the use of them in air pistols for the dispatch of cage trapped animals. But It's a sponsorship handshake. Steer clear and buy some proper pellets. Quote Link to post

moxy 617
Rake. That's exactly what I said to the fella running the course. It was a mink raft and trapping course run by the above. I disagreed fully in regards to the dispatch tools and was told the only alternative was to place the cage up against a tree.....take twenty good paces.....turn and blast the hell out of it with your 12G. A bloody joke of an outfit. Quote Link to post
Blackbriar 8,569
Cheers Moxy. I normally use Superdomes, just wondered about these, as I've never come across them before. Dispatch with an air pistol............................... Quote Link to post
Hot Meat 3,109
Moxy I was told it's the placcy bit that left debris in barrel, I only took a guy's word for it tho, so could be way wrong lol Quote Link to post

I guess you could end up with a plastic build in the rifling? But as they are not much kop and I don't use them, there's no worries here. Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
Forget them, mate. They're only for dick-heads who only want to brag about how far they'll shoot through a phone book. Utterly crap in any practical application. Other than phone books........ trenchfoot 4,243
I used to get a tub in my Xmas stocking every year as a kid and that is at least 30 years ago. I fired one through a tractor door once out of my HW35 with the expected result................. Got my arse kicked big style Quote Link to post
